The Camps :
redhill films
Viewers see the camps with a focus on the issues of health, unemployment, education and the cultural memory of this community of refugees expelled in 1948 and 1967 from their homes in historic Palestine. The film offers viewers an intimate connection to the history and present reality for all Palestinians in the complex and vulnerable Lebanese society. We meet individuals who recount their experiences during the many Israeli invasions, camp wars and the infamous massacres, which have left the Palestinian refugees with unhealed wounds. The 1982 Israeli/Falange massacre in Sabra-Shatila is seen through the eyes and words of the survivors testimonies at the annual memorial demonstration in the Shatila Camp. |
